TARRYTOWN, N.Y. — October 6, 2026
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced that it will present new clinical research across multiple cancers and cancer-associated complications at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress 2026 in Madrid, Spain. The company will present data from 10 abstracts covering cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC), non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), ovarian cancer, melanoma and cancer-associated thrombosis.
Phase 3 C-POST Data Support Longer-Term Libtayo Outcomes
Late-breaking Phase 3 C-POST data will provide longer-term survival outcomes for adjuvant Libtayo® (cemiplimab) in patients with high-risk CSCC following surgery and radiation. Regeneron will also present a final Phase 2 analysis evaluating Libtayo as a neoadjuvant treatment before surgery in patients with resectable CSCC. Libtayo is a fully human monoclonal antibody targeting the PD-1 immune checkpoint receptor on T cells and is designed to prevent cancer cells from using the PD-1 pathway to suppress immune responses.
Regeneron Explores Cancer-Associated Thrombosis
New research at ESMO will also examine Factor XI inhibition as a potential approach to cancer-associated thrombosis, a serious complication and leading cause of cancer-related mortality. Regeneron said bleeding risk can limit the use of conventional anticoagulants in patients with cancer, creating a need for alternative strategies that could reduce thrombosis risk while potentially improving the safety profile of anticoagulation.
Regeneron Expands Comprehensive Oncology Strategy
The ESMO 2026 program reflects Regeneron’s expanding oncology research strategy across more than 30 types of solid tumors and blood cancers. The company’s clinical oncology pipeline includes checkpoint inhibitors, bispecific antibodies and costimulatory bispecific antibodies, with Libtayo serving as a foundation for multiple investigational combinations. Beyond treating tumors directly, Regeneron is also investigating approaches to address complications associated with cancer. The company’s presentations at ESMO 2026 highlight an increasingly broad development strategy spanning cancer treatment, combination therapies and supportive approaches for serious cancer-associated conditions.
