Chemify announced £22 million ($29.7 million) in grants from Scottish Enterprise and the UK Government to expand its digital chemistry research and development capabilities through a second-generation Chemifarm. The company said the investment will more than double its capacity for molecular discovery, synthesis and scale-up, supporting its ambition to become the first “Chemistry Hyperscaler.” The grant package includes £16 million from Scottish Enterprise and £6 million from the UK Government. Combined with an extension of Chemify’s previously announced Series B financing to £51.9 million ($70 million), total funding secured now exceeds £110 million ($150 million). The expansion is expected to increase Chemify’s Scottish workforce from 152 employees to approximately 450 over the next three years, creating up to 300 new jobs while supporting the company’s growth across pharmaceuticals, specialty chemicals and advanced materials.
Chemify Genesis Connects AI With Robotic Chemistry
Chemify is expanding its Chemputation platform through the newly launched Chemify Genesis system, which integrates AI, world models and robotic synthesis into a closed-loop discovery workflow. The system is designed to create a continuously evolving map of molecules, reactions, reaction conditions and the boundaries of what can be synthesized based on experimental results. Chemify’s approach translates target molecules into executable chemical code that can run directly on robotic synthesis systems, creating an integrated Design-Make-Test-Analyze cycle. Genesis is intended to use experimental outcomes, including successful, unsuccessful and partial results, to make subsequent molecular design decisions more informed. The company says partners will be able to use the system remotely while keeping their intellectual property protected, creating a platform for generating bespoke molecular models and datasets alongside physical chemistry experimentation
Next-Generation Chemifarm Expands Discovery Capacity
Chemify’s second-generation Chemifarm is expected to come online later in 2026 and will substantially expand the company’s automated chemistry infrastructure. The facility builds on Chemify’s first Chemifarm in Glasgow, which has operated continuously since its launch and has supported partner-driven molecular discovery programs. The new site will feature a larger footprint of automated systems, streamlined workflows and additional design and synthesis capabilities intended to increase chemical throughput and program speed. The company also plans to establish additional Chemifarms internationally, including in the United States, as it develops a global infrastructure for digitally enabled chemistry. The expansion is designed to allow Chemify to deliver closed-loop discovery and scale-up capabilities to partners working across drug discovery, specialty chemicals and advanced materials, while increasing the amount of experimental data available to its computational systems
Chemify Builds Global Digital Chemistry Infrastructure
The new funding and expanded facilities strengthen Chemify’s strategy to industrialize chemistry through the integration of AI, software and automated synthesis. Founded as a spinout from the University of Glasgow, the company is developing a technology model in which digital molecular design is directly connected to physical compound creation and analysis. Chemify’s new headquarters is located within Glasgow’s Health Innovation Hub, part of the Glasgow Riverside Innovation District and adjacent to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The company views Scotland as a key base for scaling its deep-tech and life-sciences operations while preparing for international expansion. With more than £110 million in total funding, a new high-capacity Chemifarm and the Chemify Genesis world-model system, Chemify is building an integrated infrastructure intended to accelerate the discovery and synthesis of new molecules, medicines and advanced materials at significantly larger scale.
