Telix has officially opened Telix Manufacturing Solutions North Melbourne (TMSNM), Australia’s first fully integrated radiopharmaceutical facility where research, manufacturing, patient treatment, and medical imaging are delivered under one roof. The multi-million-dollar site is designed to accelerate the development and clinical delivery of innovative cancer therapies while strengthening Australia’s sovereign radiopharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities.
Integrated Facility Connects Research, Manufacturing, and Patient Care
TMSNM brings together radiochemistry laboratories, GMP clinical product manufacturing, patient dose preparation, administration, and imaging in a single purpose-built facility. By locating radiopharmaceutical production close to patients, the center addresses one of the industry’s key logistical challenges while helping shorten the timeline from early-stage research and clinical trials to routine patient treatment. The integrated model is expected to improve manufacturing efficiency and expand patient access to advanced precision oncology therapies.
Collaboration with MTIC Advances Clinical Research and Precision Oncology
Clinical research and patient care at the new facility will be delivered through a collaboration with the Melbourne Theranostic Innovation Centre (MTIC), led by internationally recognized nuclear medicine specialist Professor Rod Hicks. The partnership will support Telix-sponsored clinical studies, investigator-initiated trials, and selected third-party research collaborations. The center aims to accelerate the evaluation of new molecular targets, novel radioisotopes, and next-generation theranostic approaches while improving patient selection and treatment monitoring in real-world clinical settings.

Investment Strengthens Australia’s Radiopharmaceutical Industry
The new facility forms part of Telix Manufacturing Solutions (TMS), the company’s global network of 45 manufacturing and distribution facilities spanning five continents. In addition to expanding manufacturing capacity for novel radiopharmaceuticals, the Melbourne site will support workforce development through training programs in nuclear medicine, radiochemistry, engineering, and clinical research. As radiopharmaceuticals continue to emerge as a major pillar of cancer care alongside surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy, the investment reinforces Telix’s strategy to expand global production capabilities and accelerate the delivery of precision cancer treatments.
