COPENHAGEN, Denmark, October 19, 2026
Evaxion A/S (NASDAQ: EVAX), a clinical-stage TechBio company developing immunotherapies using its proprietary AI-Immunology™ platform, announced three-year clinical follow-up data for EVX-01, its personalized cancer vaccine candidate being evaluated in patients with advanced melanoma. According to the company, all patients assessed at the three-year follow-up maintained the clinical responses observed at two years, with no tumor progression reported during the third-year follow-up. The findings will be presented alongside new immune-response data at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress 2026, taking place October 23–27 in Madrid, Spain. The results build on previously reported two-year findings that showed a 75% objective response rate (ORR), including complete responses in 25% of patients. Evaxion said the longer-term observations add to the clinical evidence supporting EVX-01 and may help inform potential partnership discussions as the program advances.
Three-Year Follow-Up Builds on Earlier Clinical Responses
The new data indicate that patients included in the three-year follow-up maintained the clinical responses observed at the two-year assessment. During the third year, patients received EVX-01 as stand-alone therapy, following an initial treatment period in which the vaccine was administered in combination with KEYTRUDA® (pembrolizumab), Merck’s anti-PD-1 therapy. Evaxion previously reported that 92% of patients were still responding at two years, with no relapses observed at that assessment. In addition, 54% of patients experienced a deepening of response after EVX-01 treatment began, improving from stable disease or partial response to partial or complete response. Tumor reduction in target lesions was observed in 15 of the 16 patients enrolled in the trial. The company said six of the 12 responders continued into the study’s one-year extension and received EVX-01 alone. While the three-year findings suggest sustained disease control among the patients followed, the results come from a small Phase 2 study and should be interpreted in the context of the trial design and available patient follow-up.
Personalized Vaccine Designed Using AI-Immunology
EVX-01 is a personalized peptide-based cancer vaccine designed to target tumor-specific neoantigens identified from each patient’s individual tumor profile and immune characteristics. The candidate is developed using Evaxion’s proprietary AI-Immunology™ platform, which applies artificial intelligence to predict immune targets and support the design of tailored immunotherapies. The objective is to stimulate a targeted immune response against cancer cells expressing patient-specific neoantigens. Earlier immune analyses from the Phase 2 trial showed that EVX-01 induced an immune response in all patients, with 86% of vaccine neoantigens generating potent, specific T-cell responses at the two-year follow-up. The upcoming presentation will include new immune data alongside the three-year clinical outcomes, offering further information about response durability and vaccine-induced immune activity. EVX-01 remains investigational and is currently being evaluated in advanced melanoma; the reported findings do not establish the vaccine as an approved treatment or confirm its efficacy across other cancer types.
ESMO Presentation and Upcoming Clinical Data Webinar
Evaxion plans to present the results at the ESMO Congress 2026 poster session on October 24, from 12:00 to 12:45 CET. The poster, titled “EVX-01, a personalized cancer vaccine, induces sustained T-cell responses and durable disease control in advanced melanoma after three-year of follow-up,” is listed as presentation 2006P in the investigational immunotherapy topic area at Poster Area – Hall 5. Professor Muhammad Adnan Khattak, Director of Oncology at One Clinical Research, Hollywood Private Hospital and Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia, will present the findings. The company will also host a webinar on October 29, 2026, at 15:30 CET / 10:30 a.m. EDT, featuring Professor Khattak, followed by a question-and-answer session. Evaxion is developing a pipeline of personalized and off-the-shelf cancer vaccine candidates, as well as vaccine candidates for infectious diseases. The company said the latest EVX-01 findings add to the program’s clinical data package and provide an opportunity to discuss the results with the oncology research community.
