MILAN, Italy and PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — October 5, 2026
Aptar Pharma announced the launch of Premia™ Precision, a new quality standard for elastomer components designed to support sensitive and high-value injectable therapies, including biologics and GLP-1 treatments. The standard combines impact-based quality criteria, risk-driven manufacturing controls, stringent visible and subvisible particle management, production data monitoring and 100% automated vision inspection of every component. Aptar Pharma said the approach is intended to help pharmaceutical manufacturers improve component consistency, strengthen quality controls and support regulatory objectives for increasingly complex injectable products.
Premia Precision Combines Quality and Defect-Control Measures
Premia™ Precision establishes a defined quality framework focused on attributes considered important for high-value and sensitive injectable therapies. The standard incorporates impact-based quality limits alongside manufacturing controls designed to manage contamination and defects throughout production. It also includes stringent management of visible and subvisible particles, production data monitoring and automated vision inspection of every component. By bringing these measures together within a single standard, Aptar Pharma aims to provide pharmaceutical manufacturers with a consistent approach to component quality and final verification while helping manage quality risks associated with demanding injectable applications.
Aptar Pharma Expands Support for Injectable Drug Delivery
The new standard builds on Aptar Pharma’s broader portfolio of technologies and services for injectable drug delivery systems. The company provides elastomeric components, advanced coatings, ready-to-use technologies and aseptic transfer solutions for applications including vials, pre-filled syringes and auto-injectors. Aptar Pharma said its injectables business combines more than 60 years of precision manufacturing experience with expertise spanning the broader injectable system rather than individual components alone. Premia™ Precision represents an extension of these capabilities, providing a quality framework intended to support pharmaceutical companies from development through commercialization.
Premia Precision Debuts at CPHI Milan and PDA Conference
Aptar Pharma is formally introducing Premia™ Precision at two industry events taking place in October 2026. The company will showcase the new quality standard at CPHI Milan from October 6–8 and the PDA Universe of Pre-Filled Syringes and Injection Devices Conference in Palm Springs, California, from October 6–7. Aptar Pharma experts will be available at both events to discuss the standard and its application to sensitive injectable therapies. The launch reflects the growing emphasis on component consistency, contamination control and automated defect detection as pharmaceutical manufacturers develop increasingly complex and high-value injectable medicines.
