Vector Science & Therapeutics Corp., LyoGenesis Plus 1, LLC, and Wynn Pharmaceuticals LLC have announced a strategic collaboration to develop and manufacture a new portfolio of critical care medical products, beginning with IV bag and vial adaptor systems designed to support the delivery of essential medications in hospital and medically supervised settings. The collaboration, established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), combines Vector’s commercial and customer relationship expertise, LyoGenesis Plus’ pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities, and Wynn Pharmaceuticals’ experience in the critical medications market. The companies intend to negotiate definitive development and supply agreements over the coming weeks, with commercial production expected to begin within the next three to four months. The initiative targets products supporting drug substances listed on the U.S. FDA shortage list, which may qualify for expedited Investigational New Drug (IND) review, positioning the partnership to address growing demand for reliable drug delivery solutions while strengthening critical healthcare supply chains.
Strategic Collaboration Targets Critical Care Drug Delivery
The newly announced collaboration focuses on the design, development, and manufacture of IV bag and vial adaptor products that improve the preparation and delivery of critical medications used in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. According to the companies, the first product line addresses therapies included on the FDA drug shortage list, creating opportunities for accelerated regulatory pathways and faster commercialization. Under the proposed structure, Vector Science & Therapeutics will oversee customer relationships, business development, and commercial sales activities, while LyoGenesis Plus will act as the dedicated contract manufacturing organization (CMO) responsible for product development, testing, and manufacturing. This division of responsibilities is expected to create a capital-efficient business model, allowing Vector to generate high-margin revenue without assuming manufacturing infrastructure costs while enabling LyoGenesis Plus to expand its pharmaceutical manufacturing portfolio into new critical care applications.
Revenue Growth and Manufacturing Expansion Planned
The companies expect the initial IV bag and vial adaptor product portfolio to generate an annual market opportunity exceeding $20 million, with projected expansion of the broader product portfolio reaching approximately $64 million in annual revenue over the first five years. Under the anticipated commercial framework, Vector is expected to receive approximately 75% of product sales proceeds, while LyoGenesis Plus would retain approximately 25%, in addition to reimbursement for manufacturing costs, subject to the execution of definitive agreements. Company leadership emphasized that the collaboration creates a scalable platform for future pharmaceutical manufacturing growth while supporting healthcare providers with innovative products designed to improve medication preparation and delivery. Executives from both organizations highlighted the complementary strengths of their scientific, manufacturing, and commercial capabilities as key factors supporting long-term expansion opportunities.
Partnership Supports Healthcare Manufacturing Innovation
The collaboration reflects a growing industry focus on strengthening pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity, improving critical medication availability, and developing advanced drug delivery technologies capable of supporting healthcare systems facing ongoing supply chain challenges. LyoGenesis Plus brings expertise in the development and manufacture of pharmaceutical products, including complex drug substances such as peptides, while Vector Science & Therapeutics contributes a diversified portfolio spanning drug delivery technologies, precision catheter systems, regenerative medicine, smart wound care, and lyophilized pharmaceutical systems. Wynn Pharmaceuticals, with its established presence in supplying medications used in medically supervised settings, adds valuable market knowledge that supports commercialization of the planned product portfolio. As negotiations continue toward definitive agreements, the companies expect to provide additional updates while advancing product development and preparing for commercial manufacturing. The collaboration represents a strategic effort to combine scientific innovation, manufacturing expertise, and commercial execution to enhance the availability of critical care medical products and support evolving healthcare needs.
