Renata Medical, a medical technology company focused on pediatric congenital heart disease (CHD), has closed a $25 million Series D financing round led by ARCHIMED, a global healthcare investment firm, with participation from existing investors. The financing is expected to support the company’s U.S. commercialization activities, international expansion, continued development of pediatric cardiovascular technologies, and clinical evidence generation for its Minima™ Stent System.
Funding Supports Minima™ Stent Expansion
Renata Medical said proceeds from the Series D financing will be used to expand commercialization of the Minima™ Stent System in the United States and support entry into international markets. The company also plans to advance its pipeline of pediatric-specific cardiovascular technologies and continue generating clinical evidence as adoption of Minima grows among congenital heart programs. The financing follows the commercial launch of Minima in 2024. According to Renata Medical, adoption of the technology has exceeded expectations since launch, supporting the company’s strategy of developing cardiovascular devices specifically for children rather than adapting technologies primarily designed for adults. The Series D investment from ARCHIMED provides additional capital for Renata’s next stage of growth as the company seeks to broaden access to its pediatric cardiovascular technology and establish a larger international presence.
Minima Stent Designed for Growing Children
The Minima™ Stent System is described by Renata Medical as the first balloon-expandable growth stent specifically designed for neonates, infants and young children with pulmonary artery stenosis or coarctation of the aorta. The device addresses a particular challenge in pediatric cardiovascular care, where patients continue to grow after implantation and may require interventions when conventional devices are not designed around pediatric growth. Renata Medical received FDA premarket approval for Minima in August 2024. In August 2025, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services granted the device New Technology Add-on Payment (NTAP) designation, providing hospitals with additional reimbursement support for the technology. The company is developing Minima as part of a broader effort to address unmet needs in children with congenital heart defects. Pediatric patients can require specialized cardiovascular interventions throughout childhood, creating demand for devices that account for their anatomy, age and ongoing growth.
