BAGSVAERD, Denmark — September 14, 2026
Novo Nordisk A/S announced the launch of a new corporate brand centred on the tagline “Lasting Health Starts Now” and the day-to-day use of the single name “Novo.” While Novo will become the company’s operating name and primary brand identity, Novo Nordisk A/S will remain the legal global company name. The rebrand represents a strategic effort to create a more distinctive and consistent identity as the company seeks to reach more people through medicines, partnerships and broader healthcare initiatives. The updated visual identity retains the Apis bull logo, a symbol rooted in Novo’s heritage, while introducing a more contemporary expression intended to strengthen recognition across global markets. CEO Mike Doustdar said the company’s purpose remains unchanged, with the rebrand designed to support its ambition to bring breakthrough science closer to people’s everyday lives and help more people achieve lasting health.
“Lasting Health Starts Now” Defines Brand Strategy
The new “Lasting Health Starts Now” positioning is intended to connect Novo’s scientific mission with changing expectations around healthcare and personal health management. The company said the concept reflects its belief that progress toward lasting health begins today through improvements people can see and feel over time. The new identity is designed to provide a recognisable and consistent global platform for communication with patients, consumers, healthcare professionals, partners and other stakeholders. Novo has historically built its position in areas including diabetes and obesity through scientific innovation, and the updated brand is intended to support the company as it expands its reach across healthcare. The strategy also reflects an increasingly consumer-driven healthcare environment in which accessibility, relevance and ease of integration into everyday life are becoming more important. By bringing its medicines, partnerships, marketing and stakeholder engagement under a unified brand, Novo aims to strengthen trust and competitive differentiation while maintaining its patient-focused purpose.
“The Novo Way” Introduces Four Cultural Principles
Alongside the rebrand, Novo Nordisk introduced “The Novo Way,” a new set of corporate culture principles intended to improve focus, speed and execution across the organisation. The framework builds on the company’s longstanding emphasis on scientific expertise, care for people and patient safety while establishing behaviours designed for a faster and more competitive healthcare market. The four principles are Customer Obsession, Competitiveness, Clarity, and Care & Integrity. Customer Obsession places patients and consumers at the centre of innovation; Competitiveness focuses on raising performance and creating greater stakeholder value; Clarity is intended to simplify priorities and accelerate decision-making; and Care & Integrity reinforces respect, ethics and an uncompromising commitment to patient safety. Novo said the culture update is intended to help employees work with greater focus and speed while supporting the company’s broader strategic objectives. The combination of brand and culture is being positioned as a foundation for how Novo operates and competes globally.
Novo Prepares for Updated Corporate Strategy
The rebrand and “The Novo Way” arrive ahead of Novo’s Capital Markets Day in London on September 21, 2026, where the company is expected to provide a detailed overview of its updated corporate strategy. The changes therefore represent more than a visual identity refresh, serving as part of a broader effort to align organisational culture, commercial positioning and strategic execution. Novo Nordisk employs more than 67,000 people worldwide and continues to operate across medicines, healthcare partnerships, disease prevention, access initiatives and sustainability programs. The company said its underlying purpose of changing people’s lives remains unchanged, while the new brand and cultural framework are intended to sharpen how that purpose is translated into business performance. With “Novo” becoming the company’s day-to-day identity and “The Novo Way” establishing four new operating principles, Novo Nordisk is positioning its next corporate chapter around greater focus, speed, competitiveness and global healthcare impact.
