Mission Therapeutics announced the divestment of its Phase 2-ready USP30 inhibitor MTX652 to Dimerix Limited in a transaction valued at up to US$292 million in upfront, development and commercial milestone payments, along with double-digit tiered royalties on future global net sales. The agreement enables Dimerix to advance MTX652 for the treatment of acute kidney injury (AKI) while allowing Mission to accelerate development of its central nervous system pipeline.
MTX652 Expands Dimerix’s Renal Disease Portfolio
MTX652 is a first-in-class, selective USP30 inhibitor that completed Phase 1 clinical development and is ready to enter Phase 2 studies for acute kidney injury. The acquisition complements Dimerix’s renal disease portfolio, which includes its ongoing Phase 3 ACTION3 program in focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), expanding the company’s presence across both acute and chronic kidney diseases.
Deal Provides Capital to Advance Parkinson’s Disease Program
Mission Therapeutics expects the transaction to provide significant non-dilutive funding to accelerate development of its lead CNS candidate MTX325, currently in Phase 1 clinical development for Parkinson’s disease. The company stated that the divestment reflects its strategy of partnering therapeutic assets with companies that possess specialized expertise in their respective disease areas while maximizing the value of its proprietary USP30 platform.

Partnership Validates Mission’s USP30 Platform
Mission believes the agreement validates its mitochondrial biology platform and supports broader development of therapies designed to restore cellular health by promoting the removal of dysfunctional mitochondria. Dimerix plans to leverage its renal disease expertise and global clinical development network to advance MTX652 toward later-stage development and potential commercialization for patients with acute kidney injury.
