Cambridge, MA, Rotterdam, Netherlands, and Shanghai, China – July 27, 2026
Harbour BioMed has entered into a strategic collaboration with China National Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. (Sinopharm) to establish the Sinopharm–Harbour BioMed Innovation Consortium, a joint research and development initiative focused on advancing innovative biologics. The collaboration combines Harbour BioMed’s fully human antibody technology and AI-enabled drug discovery platform with Sinopharm’s expertise in clinical development, large-scale manufacturing, and commercialization. Together, the companies will jointly fund research and development activities while sharing product rights under mutually agreed terms. The partnership is expected to accelerate the discovery, development, manufacturing, and commercialization of next-generation biologic therapies targeting oncology, immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, and other therapeutic areas.
Partnership Combines Antibody Innovation with Manufacturing Expertise
Under the collaboration agreement, Harbour BioMed will utilize its proprietary Harbour Mice® fully human antibody technology platform alongside its AI-powered antibody discovery capabilities to identify and optimize novel antibody candidates. Sinopharm will contribute its extensive capabilities across clinical development, commercial-scale manufacturing, regulatory development, and product commercialization, supporting the transition of promising biologics from research into clinical and commercial stages. Both organizations will jointly finance research programs while leveraging their complementary expertise across the entire biologics development lifecycle. The collaboration aims to improve research efficiency, accelerate innovation, and expand patient access to advanced biologic medicines through an integrated development model.
Consortium Supports Oncology and Immunology Drug Development
The newly established Innovation Consortium will initially focus on developing innovative biologics for oncology, immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, and additional therapeutic areas with significant unmet medical needs. Harbour BioMed Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Jingsong Wang said the collaboration represents another important milestone in the company’s “platform + pipeline” strategy, highlighting Harbour BioMed’s existing global collaborations with leading pharmaceutical companies and its commitment to becoming a platform-driven biotechnology leader. Sinopharm stated that the consortium aligns with its innovation strategy by combining independent scientific research with open collaboration, enabling both organizations to optimize research resources, improve development efficiency, and accelerate the industrialization of innovative medicines.
AI and Fully Human Antibody Technologies Drive Future Innovation
At the center of the collaboration is Harbour BioMed’s proprietary Harbour Mice® platform, which enables the generation of fully human monoclonal antibodies and supports advanced technologies including HBICE® bispecific antibodies, HCAb PLUS™ multispecific antibody platforms, and the company’s Hu-mAtrIx™ generative AI antibody discovery model. By integrating artificial intelligence with antibody engineering and single B-cell cloning technologies, Harbour BioMed has established a comprehensive discovery engine for next-generation biologic therapeutics. Combined with Sinopharm’s industrial-scale manufacturing capabilities and nationwide commercialization network, the Innovation Consortium is expected to accelerate the development of high-quality biologic medicines while expanding access to innovative therapies for patients in China and global markets.
