Grey Matters Health Inc. announced the delivery of its first FDA-cleared CareMiBrain™ brain-dedicated positron emission tomography (PET) scanning system for its flagship NovaScan Neuroimaging Clinics™ location in Davie, Florida. The clinic is expected to become the first facility of its kind in the United States dedicated exclusively to brain PET imaging, providing specialized diagnostic services for Alzheimer’s disease through beta-amyloid imaging while also supporting the diagnosis of other neurodegenerative disorders. The installation marks a significant milestone as the company prepares to launch its first U.S. neuroimaging center.
Brain-Dedicated PET Technology Designed to Improve Patient Experience and Diagnostic Efficiency
The CareMiBrain™ PET system is specifically designed for brain imaging and eliminates the need for an integrated computed tomography (CT) scanner while maintaining high-quality diagnostic images. According to the company, the system reduces patient radiation exposure by approximately 25% compared with conventional PET/CT systems and features a chair-based design intended to improve patient comfort by minimizing claustrophobia and dizziness. The dedicated platform is expected to support beta-amyloid PET imaging for early Alzheimer’s disease detection, with scans eligible for reimbursement through Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance for qualifying patients aged 65 years and older.
Clinic to Support Alzheimer’s and Other Neurodegenerative Disease Diagnosis
Located within the HCA Florida University Medical Office Building on the HCA Florida University Hospital campus, the NovaScan Neuroimaging Clinic will provide brain PET imaging for Alzheimer’s disease as well as diagnostic support for frontotemporal dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Lewy body dementia, and selected neuro-oncology applications. The launch comes as demand for beta-amyloid imaging continues to increase following the availability of disease-modifying Alzheimer’s therapies such as Leqembi® and Kisunla™, both of which require confirmation of amyloid pathology before treatment initiation and ongoing imaging to monitor therapeutic response.

Grey Matters Plans Expansion of Dedicated Neuroimaging Network Across the United States
Grey Matters stated that the delivery of the CareMiBrain™ system represents the first step in building a broader network of dedicated neuroimaging clinics throughout the United States. The company believes specialized brain-only PET centers can help address growing demand for Alzheimer’s diagnostic imaging, particularly as many existing PET/CT scanners remain heavily utilized for oncology and cardiac imaging. Preparations for the Florida clinic continue, including completion of construction, regulatory licensing, and installation of operational systems, with the company expected to announce an official opening date and patient referral timeline in the near future.
