Compass Pathways plc announced that five organizations have been awarded grants to develop healthcare provider training programs supporting the potential future delivery of COMP360 psilocybin treatment in the United States. The grant recipients are CME Outfitters, Emory University, Fluence International, Integrative Psychiatry Institute and Strata Mental Health Solutions. Compass originally planned to select three organizations but expanded the program to five following a competitive application process that attracted a strong group of qualified applicants. The initiative is designed to support foundational education in psychedelic treatments while helping healthcare providers develop the capabilities required to deliver COMP360 for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) if the investigational therapy receives regulatory approval. Independent Training Programs Target U.S. Healthcare Readiness
The selected organizations will independently develop and deliver training programs for healthcare professionals involved in psychedelic treatment delivery. Each grant recipient will retain ownership and control of its educational content, faculty selection, training platform and instructional design, consistent with applicable ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education. Compass will provide grant funding and recognize the organizations as awardees while maintaining separation from the independent educational programs. Applicants were evaluated on their experience in psychedelic training, ability to deliver programs at scale, governance capabilities, focus on access and inclusion, and regulatory alignment. The approach is intended to establish a broader pool of qualified educational resources rather than a single Compass-controlled training program. Compass is also developing guidance documents intended to support real-world delivery and consistent training practices for healthcare providers. The company said these materials were developed independently and are separate from the training programs created by the grant recipients, although they may serve as resources for other organizations developing educational programs.
