CSPC Pharmaceutical Group Limited has announced a strategic collaboration, option and license agreement with AstraZeneca to accelerate the discovery and development of next-generation small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutics for renal diseases. The agreement combines CSPC’s proprietary AI-powered siRNA drug discovery platform and extrahepatic targeted delivery technology with AstraZeneca’s global drug development expertise, marking a significant step in advancing innovative RNA-based medicines. Following successful preclinical development, AstraZeneca will hold exclusive options to obtain worldwide or ex-China development, manufacturing, and commercialization rights, while CSPC will retain commercialization rights within China for one of the programs.
