The presentations will examine the potential of Autonomix’s investigational platform in two areas of interventional medicine: pain management for pancreatic adenocarcinoma and precision identification of neural structures. Both abstracts will be presented by Dr. Robert Schwartz, highlighting the company’s efforts to develop minimally invasive approaches for sensing and targeting nerves through the vascular system. The acceptance of the abstracts provides an opportunity for Autonomix to present its technology to the international interventional radiology community while advancing scientific discussion around image-guided and physiology-informed treatment approaches.
Autonomix Highlights Transvascular Nerve Technology
The first presentation, titled “Pain Mitigation in Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma: A Long-Term Analysis of Denervation via Transvascular RF Energy-Based Ablation,” focuses on the potential use of radiofrequency (RF) energy-based ablation to denervate nerves associated with pain caused by pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Pancreatic cancer can be associated with severe and difficult-to-manage pain, creating a significant need for additional minimally invasive treatment strategies. Autonomix is investigating whether its catheter-based platform can facilitate targeted access to neural structures through the vasculature and deliver energy-based treatment to selected nerves. The long-term analysis to be presented at CIRSE is therefore positioned around the potential role of transvascular nerve denervation as an approach for pain management. The company’s platform incorporates a catheter-based microchip sensing array designed to detect and differentiate neural signals. According to Autonomix, this technology is being developed to provide physicians with physiological information that could help identify relevant nerves during minimally invasive procedures.
