AN2 Therapeutics, Inc. announced that four abstracts featuring clinical and translational data for epetraborole will be presented at the Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO) 2026 Annual Meeting, supporting the company’s ongoing development of the oral, boron-containing small-molecule candidate for polycythemia vera (PV). The annual meeting is scheduled for September 9-12, 2026, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. The presentations will provide additional insight into epetraborole’s effects on hematological parameters across clinical and nonclinical studies. According to AN2 Therapeutics, the findings further characterize the candidate’s potential effects on erythropoiesis and hemoglobin-related measures, while also examining exposure-response relationships that may support its continued development in PV. The company is using data from healthy subjects, non-PV participants and nonhuman primate studies to strengthen the translational understanding of epetraborole.
Epetraborole Data Expand Understanding of Hematological Effects
The four SOHO 2026 abstracts collectively provide additional characterization of epetraborole’s hematological profile and potential biological effects. Clinical and nonclinical investigations reported by AN2 Therapeutics demonstrated potential effects on erythropoiesis and hemoglobin-related parameters, providing further evidence for the candidate’s development in PV. The company said the studies also generated additional information regarding the candidate’s safety and hematological profile across different study populations. One presentation evaluates an exposure-dependent effect on erythropoiesis in healthy subjects, while another examines hematological and safety findings in a non-PV patient population. Together, these datasets are intended to improve understanding of how epetraborole exposure relates to changes in hematological parameters and help define the clinical profile of the investigational therapy as development progresses.
Translational Studies Support Epetraborole Development
A key component of the SOHO presentations is the assessment of exposure-response relationships observed in nonhuman primate models and their relevance to human studies. AN2 Therapeutics reported that exposure-response relationships involving hemoglobin changes in nonhuman primates were predictive of effects subsequently observed in humans. The company believes these findings support the translational relevance of its preclinical models and provide additional information for understanding the relationship between epetraborole exposure and its hematological effects. Another study evaluates the hematological profile of epetraborole in nonhuman primates, adding to the nonclinical evidence supporting the candidate’s development. These findings are particularly relevant as AN2 continues to characterize the pharmacological effects and potential therapeutic profile of epetraborole ahead of further clinical development in polycythemia vera.
Four SOHO Abstracts Highlight Epetraborole Program
The four abstracts being presented at SOHO 2026 are titled Epetraborole Demonstrates an Exposure-Dependent Effect on Erythropoiesis in Healthy Subjects, Hematological and Safety Profile of Epetraborole in a Non-Polycythemia Vera Patient Population, Exposure-Response Analyses of Hemoglobin Changes During Epetraborole Administration to Nonhuman Primates Predict Human Exposure-Response Relationships, and Hematological Profile in Nonhuman Primates of Epetraborole, a Novel Boron-Containing Candidate for Oral Treatment of Polycythemia Vera. The presentations are designed to build a broader understanding of epetraborole’s clinical, safety and translational characteristics. Collectively, AN2 Therapeutics said the data support the ongoing clinical development of epetraborole as a potential oral treatment for PV. The company is developing the candidate through its proprietary boron chemistry platform, with the SOHO presentations providing additional evidence around the biological and exposure-response characteristics relevant to the PV program. The data will contribute to the company’s continuing evaluation of epetraborole as it advances through clinical development.
