Bridgewater, N.J., August 10, 2026
Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has completed its acquisition of Kashiv BioSciences, LLC, creating a scaled, integrated global biosimilars platform and strengthening Amneal’s position in the rapidly expanding biologics market. The transaction combines Kashiv’s biosimilar research, development and manufacturing capabilities with Amneal’s commercial infrastructure and pharmaceutical expertise. Amneal had previously announced the agreement in April 2026, describing the transaction as a strategic opportunity to participate in a projected $300 billion-plus global biologics loss-of-exclusivity opportunity over the coming decade. The combination is expected to support a broader pipeline of biosimilar products and increase Amneal’s ability to develop, manufacture and commercialize affordable biologic medicines across multiple markets.
Kashiv Adds Integrated Biosimilar Capabilities
The acquisition strengthens Amneal’s capabilities across the biosimilar development lifecycle, including research, development and manufacturing. Kashiv has been developing biosimilars and complex biologic products and has previously worked with Amneal on products including RELEUKO and FYLNETRA. Kashiv’s portfolio and technical capabilities complement Amneal’s established commercial operations, creating an integrated platform intended to support multiple biosimilar launches. Amneal previously stated that the combined company expects to have more than 12 commercial biosimilars by 2030, alongside more than 20 additional products in its pipeline. The acquisition therefore represents more than an expansion of individual products; it is designed to establish biosimilars as a major long-term growth vertical within Amneal’s broader pharmaceutical business.
Transaction Targets Growing Biologics Opportunity
The acquisition comes as numerous biologic medicines approach or experience loss of exclusivity, creating opportunities for biosimilar manufacturers to introduce lower-cost alternatives. Amneal previously estimated that more than $300 billion of global biologics sales could be exposed to loss of exclusivity over the next decade. Biosimilars can potentially expand patient access to complex biologic treatments while creating additional competition and savings across healthcare systems. By combining Kashiv’s development and manufacturing expertise with Amneal’s commercial scale, the company expects to improve its ability to advance products through development and into commercialization. The transaction also builds on an existing relationship between the companies that has included collaboration on biosimilar development and commercialization.
Amneal Strengthens Long-Term Biosimilar Strategy
With the acquisition completed, biosimilars become an important component of Amneal’s long-term growth strategy, alongside its Specialty and Affordable Medicines businesses. The company expects the combined platform to support a more consistent cadence of biosimilar launches while expanding its geographic and therapeutic reach. Amneal’s existing experience commercializing biosimilars, together with Kashiv’s scientific and manufacturing capabilities, provides the foundation for a more vertically integrated business model. Earlier in 2026, Amneal reported strong financial performance and said the pending Kashiv transaction would establish biosimilars as a durable new growth vertical. The completed acquisition consequently marks a significant strategic step for Amneal Pharmaceuticals as it seeks to expand access to affordable biologic medicines and build a larger presence in the global biosimilars market.
