Align Technology announced a series of AI-powered innovations across its integrated Align™ Digital Platform, introducing new tools designed to advance Invisalign® treatment planning, improve patient engagement, and simplify digital orthodontic and restorative workflows. The latest updates include enhancements to the Align™ Oral Health Suite, Invisalign® Outcome Simulator Pro, ClinCheck® software, iTero™ Design Suite, and Invisalign Smile Architect™, enabling clinicians to better visualize treatment outcomes, communicate oral health conditions, and deliver more predictable patient care. The company said the new capabilities strengthen its long-term strategy of connecting diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative workflows, and patient communication into a single end-to-end digital ecosystem for dental practices worldwide.
AI-Powered Digital Tools Improve Treatment Planning and Patient Engagement
The newly introduced features focus on helping doctors deliver more personalized and data-driven orthodontic care. The Align™ Oral Health Suite now integrates AI-powered Align™ X-ray Insights with a new gumline visualization tool, enabling clinicians to identify oral health conditions such as interproximal cavities, gum recession, and bone-related concerns while making treatment discussions easier for patients to understand. Invisalign® Outcome Simulator Pro has also been upgraded with Arch Controls and an Occlusogram, allowing patients to visualize realistic treatment outcomes and compare different treatment approaches before starting therapy. In addition, the new 3D Tissue Animation feature within ClinCheck® treatment planning software simulates potential facial soft tissue changes following Invisalign treatment, helping clinicians demonstrate expected improvements in facial profile, lip support, and smile aesthetics while enhancing patient confidence and treatment acceptance.
Integrated Workflow Enhancements Increase Clinical Efficiency
Align Technology also expanded its digital restorative workflow by introducing significant updates to iTero™ Design Suite and Invisalign Smile Architect™. The iTero Design Suite now features AI-powered crown and bridge design together with a new AI Splint capability, enabling faster chairside restorative planning and supporting efficient same-day dental workflows. Meanwhile, Invisalign Smile Architect™ now includes a preferences template and a new Dual Flex Rx prescription option, simplifying combined orthodontic-restorative treatment planning for more complex cases. According to the company, these integrated digital planning tools reduce workflow complexity, improve treatment precision, and allow clinicians to manage orthodontic and restorative procedures within a unified digital environment, ultimately increasing productivity while supporting more predictable clinical outcomes.
New Invisalign Innovations Expand Digital Dentistry Platform
The announcement also builds on several recently introduced Invisalign innovations that further strengthen the Align™ Digital Platform. These include the Invisalign Specifix™ Attachment System, a 3D-printed attachment solution designed to improve attachment placement accuracy and treatment consistency, digitally integrated Invisalign buttons for more precise elastic positioning during bite correction, the enhanced Invisalign Palatal Expander System with integrated hook features for broader orthodontic applications, and a custom trimline option that allows clinicians to personalize aligner margins based on individual patient anatomy and clinical needs. With approximately 299,500 doctor customers worldwide and more than 22.8 million Invisalign patients treated, Align Technology continues to expand its leadership in digital orthodontics by combining artificial intelligence, advanced visualization technologies, and connected digital workflows to improve treatment efficiency, patient experiences, and long-term oral health outcomes.
