Agilent Technologies Inc. announced the U.S. launch of the Agilent S540MD Slide Scanner System, a whole slide imaging (WSI) digital scanner designed to support the growing needs of digital pathology laboratories. The system follows FDA clearance and expands Agilent’s portfolio of high-throughput pathology technologies as laboratories increasingly seek to improve diagnostic efficiency, manage rising sample volumes and adopt digital and AI-enabled workflows. The Agilent S540MD is engineered for speed, capacity and continuous operation in high-volume pathology environments. The scanner can accommodate up to 540 slides, supports continuous loading and is compatible with standard laboratory racks, allowing laboratories to process large numbers of glass slides with reduced manual intervention. Automated scanning modes and advanced tissue detection are designed to help efficiently digitize tissue samples while supporting consistent image acquisition.
