Acarix AB has announced that its CADScor® System, an artificial intelligence-enabled point-of-care diagnostic aid for coronary artery disease (CAD), has received regulatory approval in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The approval from the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) and the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) enables Acarix to make the technology commercially available across the UAE through its commercial partner UniTech Solutions. The regulatory milestone represents an important expansion for Acarix into the Gulf region and strengthens the company’s strategy of bringing rapid, non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic technologies to healthcare providers.
UAE Approval Expands Access to Rapid CAD Assessment
The CADScor System is designed to support clinicians in evaluating patients who present with symptoms such as chest pain or shortness of breath, which can be associated with coronary artery disease. The system uses highly sensitive acoustic technology, advanced computational analysis, and artificial intelligence to assess coronary blood flow and generate a patient-specific CAD score. By combining the CAD score with clinical risk factors, the technology is designed to help clinicians rapidly determine whether a patient is at low risk of significant coronary artery disease and may be able to avoid unnecessary downstream diagnostic procedures. According to Acarix, the system can provide a patient-specific result in less than 10 minutes, supporting faster risk stratification at the point of care.
The UAE regulatory approval gives Acarix access to a healthcare market with established clinical infrastructure and significant demand for technologies that can improve cardiovascular diagnostic pathways. The company also views the UAE as a potential foundation for broader expansion across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. Acarix states that the technology is designed to rule out significant coronary artery disease with at least a 96% negative predictive value at point of care. The system has already been used in more than 60,000 patient assessments, demonstrating substantial real-world utilization of the technology. Its development is supported by more than 15 years of research and development and 45 patents, highlighting the company’s long-term focus on acoustic and computational approaches to cardiovascular diagnostics.
The system is also CE-marked under EU MDR 2017/745 and has received FDA De Novo clearance as a diagnostic aid for symptomatic patients with suspected coronary artery disease. UniTech Solutions to Support UAE Commercialization
