Austin, Texas, August 20, 2026
Raintree Systems has expanded its agentic artificial intelligence (AI) platform for rehabilitation therapy, introducing new solutions designed to automate administrative, patient-access and revenue-cycle workflows while allowing clinicians to remain focused on patient care. The announcements were made during TherapyCon ’26 in Austin, where Raintree CEO Nick Hedges introduced NoteIQ™, SchedulerIQ™, Agentic PX™ and Agentic RCM™. The company said the new capabilities extend its “Invisible EMR” vision from clinical documentation into front-desk operations and billing, creating an AI-enabled platform designed specifically for rehabilitation therapy organizations.
AI Designed to Reduce Clinical Documentation Burden
Raintree’s Invisible EMR strategy centers on reducing the administrative workload associated with clinical documentation. The company said its ScribeIQ™ technology, released in 2025, is currently used for more than 40% of evaluations documented through Raintree, across more than 100 client organizations and several million annual visits. The newly introduced NoteIQ™ is designed to further accelerate documentation by generating evaluation notes during clinical encounters. According to Raintree, evaluations that previously required approximately 15 to 45 minutes to complete can now be completed in under two minutes with NoteIQ™. The company also reported that clinicians using the technology sign initial evaluations 40% faster, capture more revenue per visit and reduce after-hours documentation from approximately 10–20% of visits to below 3%. By automating documentation activities, Raintree aims to give therapists more time for direct interaction with patients while reducing administrative friction.
Agentic AI Targets Patient Access and Scheduling
Raintree also introduced SchedulerIQ™ and Agentic PX™, extending automation into patient scheduling and front-desk operations. SchedulerIQ™ is designed to streamline multi-appointment plan-of-care scheduling, with the company reporting that scheduling time can be reduced from 10–12 minutes to approximately one minute and overall scheduling activity by 60%. The company believes these improvements could help practices fill appointments more efficiently and improve patient access to rehabilitation services. Agentic PX™ takes the concept further through AI agents capable of handling patient communication and front-desk responsibilities. Raintree demonstrated Marcy, an AI front-desk receptionist designed to operate around the clock. According to the company, Marcy can communicate in English and Spanish, reschedule appointments according to practice-specific rules, assign new therapists, collect insurance information, answer questions regarding authorizations and copayments, follow up with patients who miss appointments and respond dynamically to different caller needs. Raintree’s stated targets include answering up to 98% of calls, reducing no-shows by 30% and recovering revenue that may otherwise be lost through missed calls and inactive patients.
Agentic RCM Automates Revenue-Cycle Workflows
Another major component of the announcement is Agentic RCM™, which applies specialized AI agents to revenue-cycle management. Raintree said the platform will combine human oversight with an orchestration layer that directs individual AI agents to specific revenue-cycle tasks. The first announced agent, Lucy, is designed to automate insurance eligibility verification. According to Raintree, Lucy can navigate payer telephone systems, access payer portals, process clearinghouse information and record verified benefits information within the electronic medical record. The company expects additional AI agents focused on prior authorization, claims, denials and payments to roll out during 2027. Raintree said its AI systems are trained using more than 7.3 billion data points spanning clinical, front-office and revenue-cycle workflows, with individual AI capabilities embedded into defined workflows and supported by guardrails and grounding data. The company also highlighted its SOC 2 Type II certification and ONC-certified EHR designed specifically for rehabilitation therapy. The expanded AI strategy follows Raintree’s July 2026 acquisition of Spike Technologies, which strengthened its AI capabilities and expanded its AI Center of Excellence. Raintree said its broader objective is to reduce administrative pressure, improve practice economics, increase patient access and help rehabilitation clinicians spend more time delivering care.
