Praxis Precision Medicines and Remagine Labs have entered into a strategic research collaboration and license agreement to develop an iontophoretic transdermal patch for the delivery of ulixacaltamide, Praxis’ investigational therapy for essential tremor (ET). The collaboration combines Praxis’ late-stage neuroscience program with Remagine’s electronically controlled transdermal drug delivery technology, with the goal of creating an alternative to oral dosing that could broaden patient access, improve treatment flexibility, and enhance the long-term value of the ulixacaltamide franchise.
Transdermal Program Designed to Expand Treatment Opportunities
Under the collaboration, the companies will integrate Remagine Labs’ proprietary active transdermal platform, which enables precise multi-day drug delivery, with ulixacaltamide, complementing the oral formulation currently under regulatory review. In support of the partnership, Praxis has also made an equity investment in Remagine Labs, accelerating joint development efforts. The companies believe a transdermal formulation could expand the addressable patient population, improve convenience for individuals who may have difficulty taking oral medications, and provide additional lifecycle management opportunities for ulixacaltamide and potentially other therapies within Praxis’ central nervous system (CNS) portfolio.
Ulixacaltamide Continues to Advance Through FDA Review
Ulixacaltamide is Praxis’ lead investigational therapy for essential tremor and is regarded as one of the most advanced drug candidates currently in development for the condition. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) accepted the therapy’s New Drug Application (NDA) in April 2026 and assigned a Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) target action date of January 29, 2027. The therapy previously received Breakthrough Therapy Designation in December 2025 following positive results from the Essential3 Phase 3 clinical program.

Essential tremor affects an estimated seven million people in the United States, yet treatment options remain limited, with no therapies specifically developed for the disorder currently available. Praxis believes ulixacaltamide has the potential to become the first significant new pharmacological treatment for essential tremor in decades.
Collaboration Strengthens Long-Term CNS Innovation Strategy
The partnership reflects Praxis’ broader strategy of combining precision neuroscience with innovative drug delivery technologies to improve patient outcomes. By pairing a validated T-type calcium channel inhibitor with programmable transdermal delivery, the companies aim to create a differentiated therapeutic option that could enhance patient adherence and expand market reach. The collaboration also provides Remagine Labs with an opportunity to further validate its transdermal drug delivery platform for future CNS drug-device combination products, supporting continued innovation across neurological disorders.
