MELBOURNE, Australia, and INDIANAPOLIS, May 15, 2026
Telix Pharmaceuticals Limited announced new strategic collaborations with EDAP TMS S.A. and Profound Medical Corp. to explore the integration of PSMA-PET imaging into emerging minimally invasive and image-guided prostate cancer treatment workflows. The partnerships will focus on evaluating how Telix’s PSMA-PET imaging agents, Gozellix® and Illuccix®, can support patient selection, treatment planning, and post-treatment monitoring in advanced ablative therapies including robotic high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) and transurethral ultrasound ablation (TULSA).
The collaborations reflect growing industry interest in combining molecular imaging technologies with precision-guided therapies to improve clinical decision-making and personalize prostate cancer treatment. Telix stated that the initiatives aim to generate clinical evidence supporting best practices for integrating PSMA-PET imaging into newer focal, subtotal, and whole-gland prostate cancer treatment approaches designed to minimize side effects while preserving healthy tissue.
PSMA-PET Imaging May Improve Precision Treatment Workflows
According to Telix Pharmaceuticals Limited, the investigational collaborations will explore how PSMA-PET imaging can enhance visualization of prostate cancer lesions before, during, and after treatment using advanced ablative technologies. The company believes molecular imaging may help physicians better identify disease extent, optimize targeting accuracy, monitor treatment response, and reduce risks associated with overtreatment.
EDAP TMS S.A., a leader in robotic focal therapy, plans to integrate Telix’s imaging agents with its Focal One® Robotic HIFU platform, which combines real-time ultrasound imaging with robotic energy delivery for focal prostate ablation. EDAP stated that combining PSMA-PET imaging with robotic HIFU could improve treatment personalization while minimizing complications such as urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction.
Meanwhile, Profound Medical Corp. will explore integration of PSMA-PET imaging into workflows involving its MRI-guided TULSA-PRO® system, an incision-free ultrasound ablation platform for prostate tissue treatment. The company noted that emerging clinical evidence suggests PSMA imaging may provide important value across focal and whole-gland ablation strategies, particularly in treatment planning and longitudinal disease monitoring.
Precision Imaging Gains Importance in Prostate Cancer
The collaborations highlight the expanding role of PSMA-PET imaging in modern prostate cancer management. Telix’s imaging agents Gozellix® and Illuccix® use gallium Ga-68 gozetotide to identify prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) expression, allowing physicians to detect prostate cancer lesions with high sensitivity.
Kevin Richardson, CEO of Telix Precision Medicine, stated that precision medicine requires highly targeted treatment strategies and that PSMA-PET imaging may become increasingly important as minimally invasive prostate cancer technologies continue evolving. Telix believes integrating molecular imaging with advanced image-guided therapies could accelerate adoption of personalized treatment workflows while improving patient outcomes.
Both Gozellix® and Illuccix® are associated with standard radiopharmaceutical safety considerations, including radiation exposure and interpretation limitations, and physicians are advised to correlate imaging findings with clinical and histopathological evaluation when appropriate.
