Kenai Therapeutics has announced the successful completion of patient enrollment in the Phase 1b/2a REPLACE™ clinical trial evaluating RNDP-001, an investigational off-the-shelf allogeneic neuron replacement cell therapy for the treatment of moderate to moderate-severe idiopathic Parkinson’s disease (iPD). The milestone marks a significant advancement in the company’s mission to develop disease-modifying regenerative therapies capable of restoring neurological function rather than simply managing symptoms. The open-label, multicenter REPLACE™ trial is assessing the safety, tolerability, and preliminary clinical activity of RNDP-001, which is designed to replace the dopamine-producing neurons progressively lost in Parkinson’s disease. The company expects to report initial observations on safety, tolerability, and early efficacy as the study progresses, providing valuable clinical insights into the potential of neuron replacement therapy for one of the world’s fastest-growing neurodegenerative disorders.
