Insmed Incorporated announced that five abstracts from its respiratory portfolio have been accepted for presentation at the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Congress 2026, taking place September 5–9 in Barcelona, Spain. The scientific program will feature new late-breaking data from the Phase 3b ENCORE study evaluating ARIKAYCE® (amikacin liposome inhalation suspension) in patients with newly diagnosed Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) lung disease who had not previously received antibiotics. The company will also present new analyses involving BRINSUPRI® (brensocatib) in non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis, as well as research on treprostinil palmitil inhalation powder (TPIP) in pulmonary arterial hypertension. Together, the presentations highlight Insmed’s continued clinical research across serious and chronic respiratory diseases.
Phase 3b ENCORE Examines MAC Lung Disease Recurrence
The most prominent presentation will be a late-breaking oral presentation from the Phase 3b ENCORE trial, titled “Microbiologic Outcomes and Recurrence in Patients With Newly Diagnosed Mycobacterium avium Complex Lung Disease (MACLD).” The study evaluates 12 months of ARIKAYCE treatment combined with multidrug therapy, including azithromycin and ethambutol, in patients with newly diagnosed MAC lung infection who had not received prior antibiotics. The research focuses on microbiologic outcomes and recurrence, addressing an important challenge in the long-term management of NTM lung disease. The ENCORE findings are scheduled for presentation on September 6 during an ERS oral session in Barcelona. ARIKAYCE is an inhaled formulation of the established antibiotic amikacin, delivered once daily using the Lamira Nebulizer System. Insmed’s proprietary PULMOVANCE liposomal technology is designed to deliver amikacin directly to the lungs, where liposomal amikacin can be taken up by lung macrophages at sites associated with infection while limiting systemic exposure. ARIKAYCE is approved in the United States, European Union and Japan for specified patient populations and is incorporated into treatment approaches for appropriate patients with MAC lung disease. In the United States, its indication is specifically for adults with limited or no alternative treatment options whose refractory MAC lung disease has not achieved negative sputum cultures after at least six consecutive months of multidrug therapy.
Insmed Expands Bronchiectasis and PAH Research
Beyond ARIKAYCE, Insmed will present new evidence concerning BRINSUPRI (brensocatib), an oral, once-daily small-molecule inhibitor of dipeptidyl peptidase 1 (DPP1). The therapy is designed to reduce activation of neutrophil serine proteases involved in chronic airway inflammation and is approved for non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis (NCFB) in several markets. At ERS 2026, a post hoc analysis of the Phase 3 ASPEN study will examine BRINSUPRI in patients with NCFB and a history of nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) infection. The presentation adds to the clinical evidence being developed around treatment approaches for patients experiencing chronic bronchiectasis and recurrent respiratory complications. Insmed will also present a post hoc COMPERA 2.0 risk assessment from a Phase 2 study of treprostinil palmitil inhalation powder (TPIP) in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). TPIP is an investigational dry-powder formulation of treprostinil palmitil, a prodrug designed as a potentially differentiated prostanoid therapy. Insmed is developing TPIP as a once-daily inhaled treatment for PAH and additional pulmonary conditions, including pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease, progressive pulmonary fibrosis and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. TPIP remains investigational and has not been approved for any indication.
Respiratory Portfolio Highlights Clinical Development
The ERS program will additionally feature research examining the psychosocial impact of bronchiectasis exacerbations and healthcare resource utilization associated with bronchiectasis and pulmonary exacerbations in Spain. These studies broaden the portfolio beyond treatment efficacy by examining how recurrent respiratory events affect patients and healthcare systems. Insmed said the five presentations collectively reflect its focus on developing therapies and generating evidence for patients with serious respiratory diseases where treatment options have historically been limited. The upcoming presentations also demonstrate the breadth of Insmed’s respiratory development strategy, spanning antibacterial therapy, chronic airway inflammation and pulmonary vascular disease. For ARIKAYCE, the ENCORE findings could provide additional information on microbiologic outcomes and recurrence following treatment in newly diagnosed MAC lung disease. For BRINSUPRI, the ASPEN analysis will provide additional context regarding its use in patients with NCFB and prior NTM infection, while TPIP research will contribute to the clinical characterization of a next-generation inhaled therapy for PAH. As the data are presented at ERS Congress 2026, the findings are expected to contribute to ongoing scientific discussion around improving diagnosis, treatment and long-term management of complex respiratory diseases.
