IASO Biotechnology has completed the acquisition of MediSix Therapeutics, a Singapore-based immune cell engineering and cell therapy company, in a move designed to strengthen IASO Bio’s global cell therapy development capabilities. The transaction combines MediSix’s differentiated T-cell engineering technology, R&D pipeline and international scientific team with IASO Bio’s established capabilities in cell therapy development, manufacturing, clinical development and commercialization. The acquisition is particularly significant for IASO Bio’s globalization strategy because MediSix brings expertise in developing therapies for T-cell malignancies and other difficult-to-treat diseases, while IASO Bio provides an integrated platform capable of moving cell therapy candidates from research through clinical development and commercialization. MediSix was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in Singapore, with its scientific foundation linked to Professor Dario Campana, a leading translational immunology researcher and pioneer of the 4-1BB CAR technology. The companies said the combination is expected to strengthen IASO Bio’s international R&D network, talent base and ability to advance innovative cell therapies for patients globally.
MediSix PEBL Platform Strengthens T-Cell Engineering
A key scientific asset joining IASO Bio through the transaction is MediSix’s proprietary PEBL (Protein Expression Blocker) platform, which is designed to address an important challenge in CAR-T development: fratricide, in which engineered T cells can attack one another when the therapeutic target is also expressed on T cells. By selectively blocking expression of target proteins on the surface of engineered cells, the PEBL platform is intended to enable CAR-T therapies against targets shared by malignant T cells and therapeutic T cells. This approach could broaden the development potential of cell therapies for T-cell malignancies and hematologic cancers, while also supporting applications across solid tumors and other diseases. MediSix has developed its technology across both ex vivo and in vivo CAR-T approaches, creating a differentiated technology base that complements IASO Bio’s existing cell therapy capabilities. The acquisition therefore adds more than a single clinical program, giving IASO Bio access to a technology platform that could potentially support multiple future therapeutic candidates.
IASO107 Program Adds Clinical Development Opportunity
MediSix’s lead program, IASO107, formerly known as PCART7, is currently undergoing clinical evaluation in collaboration with leading research hospitals. Early clinical experience has generated promising efficacy and safety signals, providing an important starting point for further development under IASO Bio’s expanded platform. Following the acquisition, MediSix is expected to continue developing follow-on products based on its PEBL technology, while leveraging IASO Bio’s capabilities in CMC, manufacturing and clinical development. IASO Bio believes these combined resources can accelerate translation of MediSix’s research programs into clinical-stage therapies. The acquisition also expands IASO Bio’s international scientific and operational footprint, supporting collaboration across China and Singapore and potentially creating additional opportunities for global clinical development. IASO Bio currently has a broader pipeline spanning marketed and investigational cell and biologic therapies, including autologous CAR-T programs and emerging in vivo CAR-T approaches, making the MediSix platform strategically relevant to its longer-term cell therapy pipeline.

Global Cell Therapy Development Gains Strategic Scale
The transaction represents a significant step in IASO Bio’s effort to build a globally integrated cell therapy organization with capabilities extending from discovery and engineering through manufacturing, clinical development and commercialization. IASO Bio’s existing commercial-stage capabilities and MediSix’s international T-cell engineering expertise provide complementary strengths that could help accelerate development of next-generation therapies. The combined organization will also benefit from MediSix’s established scientific network and international collaborations, while IASO Bio expects to contribute its execution capabilities and advanced manufacturing and CMC infrastructure. The companies emphasized that the objective is to accelerate development of innovative therapies and expand access to cell-based treatments for patients worldwide. From a technology perspective, the addition of the PEBL platform and IASO107 strengthens IASO Bio’s position in T-cell malignancies and next-generation CAR-T development, while the broader integration creates opportunities to apply the combined capabilities across hematologic malignancies, solid tumors and autoimmune diseases.
