Exero Medical has announced positive pivotal clinical study results for its FDA Breakthrough Device-designated xBar monitoring system, demonstrating the technology’s ability to detect dangerous post-surgical complications significantly earlier than current standard clinical practice. The xBar system uses specialized sensors integrated directly into a standard surgical drain to capture continuous electrophysiological data from tissue surrounding the surgical site. Exero Medical confirmed that the latest pivotal study data have now been submitted to the FDA as part of the company’s De Novo regulatory application seeking commercial clearance in the United States.
The company currently targets U.S. market entry in 2027, pending regulatory review and approval.
