Dizal has unveiled encouraging clinical findings for two innovative non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treatment programs at the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, highlighting the potential of its investigational fourth-generation EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) DZD6008 and the combination of golidocitinib with an anti-PD-1 antibody. The clinical data further revealed durable disease control, with six-month progression-free survival rates reaching 70.6% in the 40 mg cohort and 61.8% in the 60 mg cohort. Importantly, the median duration of response had not yet been reached at the time of analysis, indicating the potential for sustained therapeutic benefit. Researchers also reported exceptional blood-brain barrier penetration, a critical factor in NSCLC management given the high prevalence of brain metastases among EGFR-mutated patients. Strong intracranial activity was observed in patients with baseline brain metastases, highlighting DZD6008’s potential to address one of the most challenging aspects of advanced lung cancer treatment. Additionally, the therapy demonstrated a favorable safety profile due to its high selectivity for mutant EGFR while minimizing effects on wild-type EGFR.
Golidocitinib Combination Therapy Enhances Anti-Tumor Response
Dizal also presented encouraging data for golidocitinib, a highly selective JAK1 inhibitor, combined with an anti-PD-1 antibody as a first-line treatment approach for patients with advanced NSCLC lacking actionable driver mutations. Among 47 treatment-naïve patients enrolled in the study, the combination demonstrated durable anti-tumor activity and meaningful clinical benefits, particularly among individuals with high PD-L1 expression. Researchers reported improved treatment responses alongside a notable reduction in immune-related adverse events, an important consideration in immunotherapy-based treatment strategies.
The findings suggest that combining JAK1 inhibition with immune checkpoint blockade may enhance anti-tumor immunity while improving treatment tolerability. This innovative approach could potentially provide a valuable new therapeutic option for patients who do not qualify for targeted therapies based on molecular profiling.
