Catheter Precision, Inc. announced several commercial milestones for its LockeT® and VIVO™ cardiac electrophysiology products, including its first LockeT purchase order through Cardinal Health, the first LockeT order from Johns Hopkins Hospital, and placement of the first VIVO 3D imaging system with a hospital in Germany. For cGxP.wire, the key development is the expansion of Catheter Precision’s commercial distribution and hospital footprint, combining a major U.S. distribution channel with adoption at a leading academic medical center and expansion into the German electrophysiology market. The developments are commercial rather than clinical or regulatory milestones, but they could support broader utilization of the company’s existing medical-device portfolio.
Catheter Precision Gains Cardinal Health Distribution
Catheter Precision received its first purchase order for LockeT through Cardinal Health, providing the company with access to a major U.S. healthcare distribution network. Cardinal Health’s Medical Products business serves approximately 90% of U.S. hospitals, according to Catheter Precision, potentially giving LockeT a significantly broader pathway into hospitals and healthcare systems. The distribution relationship is important because expanding hospital adoption of a medical device depends not only on clinical acceptance but also on reliable procurement and supply-chain access. The first purchase order therefore represents an initial commercial validation of the distribution channel, although it does not establish the scale or recurring value of future LockeT sales. Johns Hopkins Places First LockeT Order
Johns Hopkins Hospital has placed its first order for LockeT, adding a high-profile academic medical center to Catheter Precision’s customer base. LockeT is a suture retention device designed to distribute suture tension over a larger area and temporarily secure sutures in conjunction with standard closure techniques. Catheter Precision views the Johns Hopkins order as an important institutional adoption milestone that could strengthen the product’s visibility among clinicians and healthcare organizations. LockeT is a sterile Class I medical device registered with the FDA and has also received CE Mark approval. The commercial significance of the Johns Hopkins order should nevertheless be measured by subsequent utilization and repeat purchasing rather than by the initial order alone.
VIVO Expands Into German Market
Catheter Precision also signed a new placement contract for its VIVO 3D imaging system in Germany, representing the company’s first VIVO system placement with a German hospital. VIVO is a non-invasive imaging platform designed to help electrophysiologists identify the origin of ventricular arrhythmias before an electrophysiology procedure. The system has received U.S. FDA marketing clearance and CE Mark approval, enabling its commercialization across applicable markets. Germany represents an important European market for cardiac electrophysiology, and the new placement provides Catheter Precision with an additional entry point for international expansion. However, a single system placement is an early commercial milestone rather than evidence of broad German market penetration. Future placements, utilization and recurring commercial activity will determine whether this initial expansion develops into a meaningful international revenue stream.
