Boulevard Bio has emerged from stealth with approximately $65 million in financing from Deerfield Management and its affiliates, launching a precision immunology company focused on developing multi-specific medicines for B cell-driven autoimmune diseases. The company also announced early Phase 1 data for its lead candidate, BLVD101, a dual BAFF/APRIL-targeting bispecific antibody being developed for IgA nephropathy (IgAN). Interim findings from healthy volunteers showed a favorable safety profile, strong IgA suppression, and pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic characteristics that support the potential for once-every-12-weeks dosing.
Boulevard Bio Builds Precision Immunology Pipeline
Boulevard Bio was founded by leaders in B cell biology, rheumatology, and immunology, including Prof. Georg Schett, MD, and scientific co-founder Frank Nestle, MD. The company was incubated within Deerfield Discovery and Development (3DC), Deerfield Management’s internal drug discovery and development engine. Boulevard’s research strategy is based on understanding the biological mechanisms that drive B cell-mediated autoimmune disease and using multi-specific antibody engineering to address multiple disease-driving pathways. The company said its objective is to develop medicines capable of producing more durable disease control for people living with chronic autoimmune disorders. B cells are increasingly recognized as central drivers of multiple autoimmune diseases, and Boulevard aims to develop precision therapies that selectively target overlapping biological mechanisms. Its pipeline currently includes three development programs spanning different approaches to B cell-driven disease.
BLVD101 Advances Toward Quarterly Dosing
BLVD101, formerly known as DFX-1092, is Boulevard’s lead development candidate and is being evaluated for IgA nephropathy, a kidney disease associated with abnormal IgA biology and progressive kidney damage. The investigational therapy is designed as a bispecific antibody targeting BAFF and APRIL, two signaling proteins involved in B cell survival and antibody production. Interim data from an ongoing Phase 1 single-ascending dose study in healthy volunteers showed that BLVD101 was generally well tolerated and maintained a favorable safety profile. The company reported strong suppression of IgA along with pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic findings that support the possibility of administering the therapy once every 12 weeks. A quarterly dosing schedule could potentially reduce treatment burden for patients managing lifelong autoimmune disease. Boulevard said the approach is intended to align treatment with routine healthcare schedules while providing sustained biological activity. The company is continuing clinical development to determine whether these early findings translate into meaningful therapeutic benefits in patients with IgAN.

Boulevard Expands Multi-Specific Antibody Portfolio
Beyond BLVD101, Boulevard is advancing BLVD201, a trispecific CD19/BCMA/CD3 T-cell engager designed for severe B cell-driven autoimmune diseases. The program is intended to target both CD19-positive and BCMA-positive B cell populations while engaging T cells, with the goal of achieving a more comprehensive and durable immune reset. Boulevard said the program is currently in IND-enabling studies following its acquisition under an exclusive global license from METiS TechBio in June 2026. The company’s third program, BLVD301, targets a novel combination in B cell-driven autoimmune disease supported by genetic evidence. Boulevard nominated BLVD301 as a development candidate in June 2026, further broadening its precision immunology portfolio. The company is led by Mahesh Karande, Chief Executive Officer, and Neil Solomons, MD, Chief Medical Officer, with a board chaired by Brian Chow, PhD, Managing Director at Deerfield Management. The newly announced financing is expected to support advancement of Boulevard’s pipeline and continued development of its multi-specific antibody platform. With $65 million in financing and three active development programs, Boulevard Bio is positioning itself to advance a differentiated approach to B cell-driven autoimmune disease. BLVD101’s early clinical findings and potential quarterly dosing profile provide the company with an initial clinical foundation, while BLVD201 and BLVD301 broaden its longer-term development opportunities. Further clinical studies will be needed to establish the safety and efficacy of these investigational medicines in patients.
