DALLAS, Texas & PRINCETON, N.J. | June 19, 2026
Telos Biotech, Inc. has announced a strategic evaluation collaboration with Made Scientific, Inc., a leading U.S.-based cell therapy contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), to assess the performance of its proprietary TELOVANCE™ platform across multiple cell therapy manufacturing workflows. The collaboration will focus on generating feasibility data for CAR-T cells, natural killer (NK) cells, and CD34+ hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells, supporting the development of next-generation manufacturing technologies for advanced cell therapies. The initiative aims to determine how TELOVANCE™, a telomerase-based telomere lengthening platform, can improve cellular fitness, manufacturing consistency, and production efficiency during ex vivo cell expansion, an area where telomere shortening can limit therapeutic performance.
Evaluation to Cover Multiple Cell Therapy Platforms
Under the collaboration, Made Scientific will integrate TELOVANCE™ into its established process development workflows to evaluate its effects on key manufacturing parameters, including cell expansion, cell viability, cell phenotype, and functional performance. The assessment will span several clinically important therapeutic modalities, including CAR-T cell therapies, NK-cell therapies, and hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell manufacturing, providing insights into the platform’s applicability across diverse cell types. By leveraging Made Scientific’s expertise in clinical- and commercial-scale manufacturing, the partners intend to generate robust feasibility data that may support broader adoption of telomerase-based ancillary technologies within the rapidly growing cell therapy sector.
TELOVANCE™ Designed to Improve Ex Vivo Manufacturing
TELOVANCE™ is being developed as an ancillary manufacturing technology intended to address telomere shortening, a biological challenge that frequently occurs during rapid ex vivo cellular expansion. Telomere erosion can reduce cell quality, proliferative capacity, and overall manufacturing efficiency, potentially impacting therapeutic outcomes. By utilizing a telomerase-based approach to extend telomeres during manufacturing, Telos Biotech aims to preserve cellular health and improve manufacturing-relevant characteristics across multiple advanced therapy platforms. The collaboration is expected to provide important scientific evidence on how the technology influences manufacturing performance and supports the production of high-quality therapeutic cells for clinical applications.
Initial Feasibility Data Expected Following July Studies
The evaluation studies are scheduled to begin in July 2026, with Telos Biotech and Made Scientific planning to publish initial findings through co-authored white papers and presentations at future industry conferences. The collaboration represents an important step in validating TELOVANCE™ across multiple commercially relevant manufacturing platforms while strengthening innovation in cell therapy production. As demand continues to grow for scalable and efficient manufacturing solutions in regenerative medicine, the partnership is expected to provide valuable data that could support the future integration of telomerase-based technologies into advanced cell therapy manufacturing workflows, helping improve production quality, consistency, and therapeutic potential across a broad range of cell-based treatments.
