LONDON, UK, June 24, 2026
IMU Biosciences and Waters Corporation announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the development of IMU’s next-generation AI-powered High Definition (HD) Immunology platform, designed to transform disease diagnosis, monitoring, and precision medicine. The collaboration combines Waters Biosciences’ advanced flow cytometry and single-cell technologies with IMU’s proprietary artificial intelligence and machine learning platform to generate deeper insights into immune system function across cancer and other diseases. The partnership also supports IMU’s goal of building the world’s largest immune dataset and establishing a new global standard for immune profiling.
AI Platform Delivers More Than 100 Million Data Points from a Single Blood Sample
IMU’s HD Immunology platform analyzes the immune system at unprecedented resolution by generating more than 100 million data points from a single blood sample. The platform integrates high-definition multiomic analysis with proprietary AI algorithms capable of analyzing immune responses in real time. By combining advanced laboratory technologies with machine learning, researchers aim to identify disease-specific immune signatures more rapidly, enabling earlier diagnosis, improved patient monitoring, and more personalized treatment strategies across multiple diseases.
Waters Technologies Strengthen Large-Scale Immune Profiling
Under the partnership, Waters Biosciences will provide its advanced research technologies, including BD FACSDiscoverâ„¢ Cell Analyzers, BD Horizonâ„¢ Real Dyes, BD Rhapsodyâ„¢ Instruments, and BD OMICS-Oneâ„¢ Whole Transcriptome Analysis (WTA) Next Assay and Protein Panels. These technologies will be integrated with IMU’s AI analytics to support high-throughput immune profiling across discovery, translational, and clinical research. The collaboration is expected to accelerate biomarker discovery while enabling large-scale population studies that improve understanding of immune system behavior across diverse patient populations.
Collaboration Supports Precision Medicine and Future Clinical Applications
The companies plan to expand their collaboration through additional translational research studies focused on discovering novel biomarkers and advancing clinical applications of flow cytometry. At the CYTO 2026 annual meeting, IMU Biosciences and Waters presented data demonstrating system-level immune profiling using the BD FACSDiscover A8 Cell Analyzer with a 58-color spectral panel and integration of high-throughput single-cell multiomics using the BD Rhapsody System. By combining cutting-edge instrumentation, reagents, and AI-driven informatics, the partnership aims to establish immune profiling as a standardized clinical tool that supports precision medicine, accelerates drug development, and improves patient care across cancer and other immune-related diseases.
