VALENCIA, Calif., April 29, 2026
AVITA Medical, Inc. has announced that its next-generation wound care platform RECELL GO® has received Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) certification in Australia and has also been listed on New Zealand’s Medsafe Web Assisted Notification of Devices (WAND) database. This major regulatory milestone enables commercial launch across both Australia and New Zealand, expanding access to advanced treatment solutions for burn and trauma wounds. The announcement is highlighted on page 1 of the uploaded PDF
RECELL GO Expands Access to Advanced Burn Care
RECELL GO® is AVITA Medical’s next-generation system designed to automate and standardize the preparation of RECELL® Spray-On Skin™, improving treatment efficiency for clinicians and patients. The platform combines a reusable RECELL Processing Device (RPD) with a single-use RECELL Preparation Kit (RPK), with one kit capable of treating wounds up to 1,920 cm².
Unlike traditional manual preparation methods historically used in Australia, RECELL GO precisely regulates enzyme incubation times and processing conditions, helping improve cell yield and viability while reducing operator variability, training burden, and operating room complexity. According to page 1 of the PDF, this innovation supports faster wound healing while reducing the need for large skin grafts, lowering donor-site pain, scarring, and hospital stay duration
Regulatory Milestone Supports Commercial Launch
The dual regulatory approvals allow AVITA Medical and its exclusive distribution partner in Australia and New Zealand, Revolution Surgical Pty Ltd, to begin commercial launch preparations across both markets. This expansion is particularly significant because RECELL GO was originally developed in Australia by renowned burn surgeon Professor Fiona Wood, whose innovation has now evolved into a globally approved device-enabled treatment platform.
Professor Fiona Wood noted that RECELL GO represents the next stage of Australian innovation in burn care, helping eliminate manual preparation steps while reducing the burden on clinical teams. Interim CEO Sal Cady Vance emphasized that the TGA certification and WAND listing improve access to RECELL while increasing standardization and efficiency across healthcare systems in Australia and New Zealand .
Strengthening Global Leadership in Wound Care Innovation
AVITA Medical continues to strengthen its leadership in therapeutic acute wound care, with RECELL already approved in the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and other international markets. The company’s platform is designed to optimize wound healing and accelerate patient recovery by harnessing the healing properties of a patient’s own skin.
In addition to RECELL, AVITA also holds exclusive rights to Cohealyx®, an AVITA-branded collagen-based dermal matrix, and PermeaDerm®, a biosynthetic wound matrix, further expanding its advanced wound care portfolio.
With TGA certification and Medsafe listing secured, AVITA Medical is positioning RECELL GO® as a transformative next-generation burn care solution, offering faster healing, improved procedural efficiency, and broader access for patients suffering from serious burn and trauma injuries across Australia and New Zealand.
