Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 21, 2026
Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, is presenting new scientific findings supporting its multimodal aesthetic treatment approach at the Aesthetic & Anti-Aging Medicine World Congress (AMWC) Dubai, held from October 21–23, 2026. The program features eight scientific posters covering HArmonyCa™, JUVÉDERM®, SKINVIVE™ and BOTOX® Cosmetic, alongside educational sessions focused on personalized treatment planning and long-term aesthetic outcomes. A key focus is HArmonyCa, a hybrid facial injectable combining hyaluronic acid (HA) and calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA). The product is designed to provide an immediate lifting effect through HA while CaHA supports longer-term collagen stimulation. The latest evidence includes a 24-month clinical study analysis and exploratory findings in people experiencing facial volume changes during GLP-1-based medical weight loss. The company is also highlighting its AA Signature™ approach, which combines treatments from across its portfolio to address individual aesthetic goals. These developments reflect growing interest in personalized aesthetic medicine, where treatment plans consider facial volume, skin quality, structure and the effects of aging together. The findings add to the clinical evidence supporting multimodal aesthetic treatments, although outcomes vary by patient, and individual study results should be interpreted according to their design and limitations.
HArmonyCa Combines Hyaluronic Acid and Calcium Hydroxyapatite
HArmonyCa is a hybrid injectable developed to combine two materials used in aesthetic medicine. Hyaluronic acid provides immediate soft-tissue augmentation, while calcium hydroxyapatite is intended to stimulate biological processes associated with collagen production over time. The company’s Dual Action Rejuvenating Technology (DART®) describes this combined approach to facial rejuvenation. At AMWC Dubai, Allergan Aesthetics is presenting an extended analysis of a multicenter, evaluator-blinded, randomized, parallel-group study examining the safety and effectiveness of the hybrid injectable for midface soft-tissue augmentation over 24 months. The longer follow-up period is relevant because aesthetic practitioners and patients often seek information about the durability of treatment effects, ongoing satisfaction and the safety of repeated or long-lasting injectable procedures. The presentation adds to the evidence base for HArmonyCa and supports discussion of its role in personalized facial treatment planning. However, the existence of a 24-month study does not mean every patient will experience the same duration of benefit. Treatment outcomes depend on individual anatomy, injection technique, product characteristics and other clinical factors. Clinical assessment and appropriate patient selection remain essential when considering injectable aesthetic treatments.
Early Findings Explore Facial Volume Changes During GLP-1 Weight Loss
Another presentation examines HArmonyCa in people experiencing facial volume changes while taking GLP-1 weight-loss medications. Significant weight reduction can affect facial fullness and contours, creating interest in approaches that address midface volume deficits alongside broader changes in body composition. In a subgroup analysis reported by Allergan Aesthetics, all eight participants treated with HArmonyCa showed visible midface improvement at three months. These findings provide an early clinical signal, but the small subgroup means the results should be interpreted cautiously. The observation does not establish that every patient using GLP-1 medication will benefit from HArmonyCa or that the treatment is appropriate for everyone experiencing facial changes during weight loss. Further research involving larger populations and longer follow-up will be needed to better characterize efficacy and safety in this group. The company is also presenting data on SKINVIVE™, including patient-reported improvements in neck appearance and satisfaction, and research into patient satisfaction with long-term BOTOX Cosmetic treatment for upper facial lines among Middle Eastern participants. Together, these studies reflect the company’s broader effort to examine aesthetic outcomes across different treatment areas and patient populations.
Multimodal Treatment Planning Supports Personalized Aesthetics
At AMWC Dubai, Allergan Aesthetics is also showcasing its AA Signature™ multimodal approach, which integrates treatments across its portfolio into individualized plans. The educational program includes the AA Signature Lift-Up symposium, expert-led discussions, live technique demonstrations and sessions addressing neurotoxin treatment and clinical outcomes. This approach reflects the view that aesthetic concerns may involve several factors, including facial volume, dynamic lines, skin quality and structural changes. Combining treatments may help practitioners address these concerns within a coordinated plan, provided each intervention is clinically appropriate for the individual patient. The scientific program also includes research into hyaluronic acid fillers, skin structure, injectable displacement and long-term treatment satisfaction. These topics are relevant to continuing education because evidence-based practice requires consideration of both expected benefits and potential complications. Allergan Aesthetics’ presentations contribute to ongoing discussion about how clinical research can inform aesthetic treatment decisions. The evidence presented at AMWC Dubai supports continued evaluation of hybrid injectables and personalized treatment strategies, but promotional announcements and preliminary subgroup findings should not replace independent assessment of the underlying clinical data. As research develops, longer-term follow-up and additional studies will help clarify the durability, safety and suitability of these approaches for different patient groups.
