AbbVie has announced new clinical, translational and real-world research findings that will be presented at the 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC), highlighting the company’s expanding pipeline across non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC). The presentations feature investigational medicines spanning next-generation immunotherapies and targeted antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), with particular attention to biomarker identification, treatment response and patient experience. Among the key programs is ABBV-1480 (RC148), an investigational PD-1/VEGF bispecific antibody being evaluated with platinum-based chemotherapy as a potential first-line treatment for advanced NSCLC. Additional data from telisotuzumab adizutecan (Temab-A) and ABBV-706 will further demonstrate AbbVie’s strategy of developing complementary approaches across major lung cancer settings.
ABBV-1480 Shows Activity in Advanced NSCLC
One of the major presentations at WCLC 2026 will feature Phase 1b data for ABBV-1480, developed by AbbVie in partnership with RemeGen. The investigational therapy is a PD-1/VEGF bispecific antibody designed to simultaneously target two pathways involved in tumor biology and immune regulation. The study is evaluating ABBV-1480 in combination with platinum-based chemotherapy as a potential first-line treatment for advanced NSCLC, including both squamous and non-squamous disease. According to the company, the 10 mg/kg dose has been identified as the recommended Phase 3 dose for further development in combination regimens. At this dose, the reported objective response rate was 90.0% in squamous NSCLC and 75.9% in non-squamous NSCLC. These findings will be presented through an oral WCLC presentation and provide clinical data supporting continued investigation of the program.The company is also advancing a Phase 3 randomized, double-blind trial of RC148 with chemotherapy in first-line squamous NSCLC. The continued development reflects growing interest in combination immunotherapy approaches designed to address multiple biological mechanisms within lung tumors. However, the reported response rates are from an early-stage clinical study, and additional randomized Phase 3 evidence will be required to determine the potential clinical benefit and establish the therapy’s future role in treatment.
Targeted ADC Programs Expand Lung Cancer Strategy
AbbVie’s WCLC program also includes new research involving telisotuzumab adizutecan (Temab-A), a targeted antibody-drug conjugate directed toward c-Met, as well as the investigational ABBV-706 program. Presentations will examine Temab-A in combination with a PD-1 inhibitor in untreated advanced non-squamous NSCLC, while additional research will explore clinical characteristics and patient-reported outcomes associated with peripheral neuropathy in patients receiving telisotuzumab-based treatment. These studies are intended to provide further insight into treatment activity, safety and patient experience in advanced lung cancer. The WCLC program also includes research into ABBV-706, an investigational ADC being studied in small cell lung cancer and other advanced solid tumors. Presentations will address the safety profile of ABBV-706, including hematologic and gastrointestinal toxicity, as well as pneumonitis and interstitial lung disease in the first-in-human study. Additional research examining SEZ6 expression across major clinical and demographic groups of SCLC patients could contribute to the identification of biomarkers and patient populations that may benefit from targeted therapeutic strategies.

The collection of WCLC 2026 presentations illustrates AbbVie’s strategy of combining next-generation immunotherapies, targeted ADCs and potential combination treatments to address different aspects of lung cancer biology.
